Alison Doody

Alison Doody (born 11 November 1966) is a famous Irish actress and model. After making her feature film debut by playing a minor role in the Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to appear as a Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Other roles include Siobhan Donavan in A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody was a model when she was approached. It turned out to be a profitable career. Doody tried to stay clear of glamour and nude roles, this was the principle she followed in her acting. If she came to the director's attention in an upcoming James Bond film, Doody was offered a small role on the film A View to a Kill (1985). Doody's first leading role came in the 1988 episode of Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller in the role of Sapsorrow alongside John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. The actress acted alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before she took probably her most high-profile part ever in the role of Austrian Nazi-sympathiser as well as archaeologist the Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade as a co-star with Harrison Ford. Doody has worked with three James Bond actors. In the year 1991, Doody played alongside Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publishing fraud known as the Hitler Diaries. The year 2011 saw her debut on the first of two seasons on the E4 comedy drama Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. She also appeared on the show in 2014 as We Still Kill the Old Way. In November she was awarded the Almeria tierra de Cine Award and was awarded a Star on the Walk of Fame in Almeria.
