Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on November 18, 1985. Her birthplace was Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor from Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix's aptitude for sports was apparent from the time she began her studies at Los Angeles Baptist High School. In just 10 weeks following her first attempt, she finished with a second-place finish in the 200m race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school signing a professional contract with the sports company Adidas after which she enrolled in the University of Southern California where she was studying elementary education. One year later Felix won her first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting an all-time junior world record sprinting 200 meters at 22.18 seconds. In 2005, at the Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the world's youngest champion for the 200m race. She won the title at the 2007 World Championships, defeating her Jamaican adversary Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently at the top of the podium in all her competitions at the Olympics held during Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
